Women involved in bust-up during dog walk as onlookers watch on

Police are investigating an alleged hate crime after a fight broke out between two women walking their dogs in Penistone.

The bust-up happened on Monday, November 16 and South Yorkshire Police believe footage of the altercation may have been recorded on phones by others who were in the area.

They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with video of the clash to contact them.

Investigators believe two different parties were out walking dogs on Back Lane in Penistone, near Penistone and District Bowling Club, at around 1pm.

They have been told a fight broke out between two women and a force spokesman said: “Police are also treating this as a suspected hate crime after a man who was also present received verbal abuse.

“We believe that several other people were present at the time and this incident may have been captured on video.

“If you witnessed the incident, please share the footage with us, or contact us with any information which could assist out enquiries.”
