Three English Bulldog puppies have been stolen after three men forced their way into a property in Essex and sprayed a woman in the face.

One of the suspects is described as being around 6ft tall, in his 30s or 40s, of large build, wearing a navy top with the hood up and with dark hair.

One of the other men is described as being of Asian or Mediterranean descent and wearing tracksuit trousers.

It is believed at least one of the men was wearing a balaclava or beanie-style hat.

Essex police are currently investigating the incident.

They say they particularly want to talk to anyone who saw a dark coloured estate car, a dark coloured hatchback, or a white transit-type van in the area at the time or during the days before.

Described as a “family companion” due to their “great character and loyalty” by the Kennel Club, Bulldogs remain a popular choice for dog owners.

Their popularity means they can command a high price, selling for up to £9,000 online.
