The worst street for crime in South Yorkshire

A street in Doncaster has been found to be the worst for crime in the county, according to the latest data.
Hall Gate in the town centre had the most cases of crime reported during the month of August out of the whole of South Yorkshire.
In total 27 crimes were reported down the street in the space of one month.
Crimes ranged from violent and sexual offences to anti-social behaviour.
The data, from the Police.UK website, collects information on the number of crimes reported in one area each month.
The latest figures available are for the month of August.
Hall Gate is at the heart of the town’s nightlife with various, pubs and bars including the entrance for Lazarus Court, a popular drinking venue.
The type of crime that was recorded the most in Central Doncaster during the month of August was violent and sexual offences.
In total 550 cases were recorded in that area. Next was Anti-social behaviour with 376 cases and 151 public order offences.
The street was closely followed by the High Street in Sheffield city centre which recorded 25 crimes in the space of August.
This included crimes such as public order, violent and sexual offences and anti-social behaviour.
