A six-car-crash brought the M1 to a complete standstill this morning.
The motorway was completely held up for around 20 minutes and caused five miles of queues and delays of around an hour.
Two lanes were closed for around two hours.
Now South Yorkshire Police have released a statement on the crash.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “We responded to reports of a road traffic collision on the M1 Southbound Junction 38-37 today (21 November) at 8:06am.
“It is believed that six vehicles were involved in the collision.
“Two lanes of the carriage way were closed while emergency services carried out their work and Highways England cleaned up an oil spillage.
“No one is believed to have been injured.”
Police say that the cars involved included a blue Audi Estate, blue Skoda Octavia, blue Mazda 2TS, grey Telsa Model 3, grey Landrove and a black Volkswagen.
All lanes of the carriageway have now been reopened.
