Pair arrested over murder of man, 55, released from custody

South Yorkshire Police have issued more information after the suspicious death of a 55-year-old man in Doncaster.

Detectives are continuing to appeal after the body of the man was found inside a house on Beckett Road in the Wheatley area of the town at 12.06pm on Sunday, November 29.

Emergency services were called to the area after reports that a man had died.

A 50-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were both arrested at the house on suspicion of murder.

They have both been released under investigation.

A post mortem carried out yesterday was inconclusive.

DC Rachel Young who works for South Yorkshire Police, said: “We are continuing to treat this man’s death as suspicious at this time and our investigation is ongoing.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Beckett Road area of Wheatley on Sunday to please get in touch if they have any information that might help our enquiries.

“I’d like to also reassure the community that there is no wider risk to the public.”
