Mum raped at 14 ‘furious’ at water park’s family nude swim

A mum-of-two who was groomed and raped by a child sex gang leader in Rotherham has been left infuriated by a popular water park’s decision to host a family nude swim.
The controversial event will return this Saturday from 7pm until 10pm at Stoke-on-Trent’s Waterworld, which attracts 400,000 visitors a year, including many from Yorkshire.
The session for both adults and children has been organised by British Naturism which has hired out the Festival Park aqua park, but the decision to stage the event has attracted a wave of criticism.
Sammy Woodhouse was one of those to question why it is going ahead. The 35-year-old was a victim of the Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal.
When she was 14, she was groomed by the 24-year-old gang leader Arshid Hussain. They started having sex a month after they met and he subsequently raped, attacked and beat Woodhouse to a pulp on a daily basis.
Hussain was jailed for 35 years in 2016 and Mirror Online reports Sammy was keen to stress her anger at tomorrow’s nude family swim going ahead.
She tweeted: “Absolutely furious that people and @WaterWorldStoke are holding a family nude day. What are you playing at?”
The tweet attracted hundreds of likes, comments and retweets after being posted yesterday evening.
The naked dip – described as British Naturism’s biggest event of the year – sees attendees ditch their costumes and trunks and ride some of the best slides in nothing but their birthday suit.
Previously the event has courted criticism from people who are concerned perverts could prey on youngsters.
One session held last year saw protesters gather outside the entrance of Waterworld with the police in attendance.
However, British Naturism and Waterworld have both strongly defended the session insisting there is a “robust child and vulnerable adults safeguarding policy” in place.
Other Twitter users have also thrown their support by the event, which will run from 7pm to 10pm.
@freewilluklive tweeted: “Nothing controversial here, just natural swimmers.”
And @ChristopheCD wrote: “In many European countries this is normal.
“What is the actual issue here? I would not paint nudists as predators.

“It’s not my cup of tea but equally I have enough friends across the UK and Europe and this is normal and not an issue.”
British Naturism was established in 1964 and is the UK’s internationally recognised organisation for naturism.
Its Facebook group says it ‘exists to unite and support naturists, to protect naturist places and provide more, make social nudity more acceptable across the UK’.
