Man seriously injured after being hit by car in Sheffield

A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Sheffield this morning.
Emergency services responded to the crash, between a pedestrian and a car, at around 6am this morning.
The crash happened in Saville Street, Burngreave.
The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man, was seriously injured in the crash and is currently in hospital.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services responded to a collision between a pedestrian and a car at around 6am on Saville Street in Sheffield this morning.
“The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains at this time.”
Officers are currently at the scene while collision investigations begin their enquiries.
A diversion was in place for buses in the area but First has now announced that diverted services have since returned to normal.
