Live as drivers trapped behind chicken offal lorry crash

Written by on 14/10/2020

Drivers are stuck in queues of up to five miles on the A1M near Doncaster after a lorry shed its load of chicken offal.

One lane is closed on the southbound carriageway between junction 36 for Warmsworth and junction 35 for Wadworth.

A specialist team have been called in to clean up the chicken offal.

Motorists are being warned to avoid the area as there are long queues on the approach, adding an extra 30 minutes onto journeys.

Narrow lanes and speed restrictions are also in place on route due to roadworks in the area.

Highways England tweeted out to say: “The stranded LGV has been cleared but a lane 2 closure remains in place whilst specialist clean up of the offal takes place.

“We have long delays on approach so please plan your journey today with this in mind.”
