Car flies off road and lands in middle of South Yorkshire train line

A driver had a lucky escape after crashing their car off the road and landed on the middle of a train line in South Yorkshire.
The crumpled car ended up on the main Northern Leeds branchline.
But officers say that the driver had a “very lucky” escape.
In a tweet the South Yorkshire branch of the British Transport Police said: “A very lucky escape for a driver this evening in #Bentley after their vehicle ended up on the main @northernassist Leeds branchline.
At the time all lines were blocked between Doncaster and Fitzwilliam due to the car on the tracks.
Train services running through these stations were either cancelled or delayed.
At the time Northern tweeted to say: “Due to a road vehicle blocking the railway between Fitzwilliam and Doncaster all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
